About The Project
The Saifee Burhani Upliftment Project is transforming Bhendi Bazaar into a modern and vibrant metropolis.
The aim of the project is not just to enhance the physical landscape but to improve the quality of life by offering an uplifted environment that matches the aspirations of the new generation. Covering a 16.5-acre expanse, the redevelopment project encompasses over 250 dilapidated buildings, housing 3200 families and 1,250 shops.

The history of Bhendi Bazaar is intricately intertwined with the vibrant tale of Mumbai, contributing to the city’s rise as the economic capital of India. Originally, Bhendi Bazaar was part of the inner-city areas developed by the British to meet the housing needs of the workforce supporting trade and commerce activities in the harbour of Old Bombay, as Mumbai was known then. Its proximity to the Crawford marketplace generated high interest among traders to reside in the nearby localities.
